Ruby tetra?

Post by VikingMummy2015 »

In my searches for smaller sized tetras, i’ve come across Ruby tetra. I’m wondering if they’d be a nice alternative to embers for my 29L kitchen tank? No idea how easy they are to source, although they are listed at Maidenhead/Fishkeeper Scotland. No idea why i’m never totally hooked on embers!
T1, 29L: Ghost (Betta) and Pumpkin (nerite snail). Added 17/7/20.
T2, 57L: 8 Cherry Barbs added 02/08/20. Honey, Marmalade and Jam (3 Honey Gourami) added 08/08/20. Lost Jam 10/08
T3, 54L: set up 29/07/20 with media from T2.
Water: pH 6.4, kH 1, gH 2.
Fish fiend since October 2017.

I've never seen them.
If they can't be sourced, have a look at flame tetras (they don't get too big and are a wider body) or the cousin/morph pink flame tetra.
I like gold tetra as well, they've gone well with my pygmy corys. ;)

@plankton I knew you’d know. Flames are also on my list but wasn’t sure for the 29L....although it’s narrow and tall like them 🤣.
