I’ve currently got 6 gold barbs in a 60 litre tank and I’m wondering what would make good tank mates? Ideally I’d like a lively tank with lots of colour ?.

I think you'll be close to or just over the limit with the current stock once fully grown.

I agree. Golden barbs will get to maybe 6 or 7 cm. 6 of those in a 60L will be fairly crowded.

Hey guys,

Thanks for the response. I should add that my tank is just to get me started out - in a year I’ll be planning on doubling the size of the tank ?.

Thanks

Welcome to the forum. :)
I agree as well, you should always get a tank that will be big enough for the adult fish, no matter how small they are to start with. ;)
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!

Thanks all - really appreciate the advice. I’m very new to this (although my parents had a large aquarium while I was a kid which I loved) so starting out small and working my way up!
