I was sitting looking at my biggest tank earlier when Angelina the female Characadon lateralis swims by with an extra tail sticking out of her and a moment later a fry dropped out and shot off into the moss!
There are at least 4 fry. Huge at about 1cm long. 2 were caught and put in the breeding net, the others are frolicking around the tank. These are nearly extinct in the wild so fingers crossed that the fry all grow well. I have some baby brine shrimp on the go to supplement their food.
I suggest turning the volume down for the vid

Very nice
Do you know, I've kept guppies for over 20 years and never seen a birth!
You keep a rare livebearer and see it happen......

I know that guppies tend to stay out of the way. She on the other hand wasn't at all shy! Very weird fish.
It looks like there are 6 of the little devils.
