Cannot find protozin.. I’ve messaged a few other shops to see if they stock it but if not I’ll need to order it but obv that will take a few days.

Have moved all but one fish out into the smaller tank - still trying to catch the last one but it’s proving really difficult!

I’ve ordered that one but it’s not coming til the 2nd. Just found three barbs dead - they were ok a few hours ago. Think by the time the medication arrives it will be too late ☹️

Still no sign of anything on the fish still in the main tank.

Last two barbs in the small tank struggling this morning. The one I can’t catch in the main tank definitely still has the white on his tail.

Did water changes again last night to keep bringing the salt down and I figure it’s all I can do in general at the moment to try and battle this!

When the protozin arrives, is this ok to use in the main tank? If I can’t catch the last barb for treatment and to be honest is it worthwhile me just treating the rest of them anyway/the tank to be on the safe side?

Still no idea what it is attacking them! When I was looking at one of the barbs from yesterday, it looked like it had a layer peeling off its body sort of like you have with sunburn peeling?

Thanks again everyone for all your help, even with no positive outcome its been a huge learning curve and I 100% will make sure I have these medications on hand for future!

I’m sorry to hear too.

Yes you can use the Protozin in the main tank. I probably would before I added more fish.

The peeling will just be excess mucus coming off.

Unfortunately the last two barbs died ☹️

Protozin arrived this morning so have started dosing the main tank after another big water change. Fingers crossed no more fish in there start showing any symptoms.

Pity you couldn’t get the Protozin in time. I cannot understand why any fish shop would not stock it.
