I found once you get them right, they are very stable and rather quiet

The C3.5 are good once you get them bed in. As I'm sure you already know, leave it with the cup off running for a day or two just to bed in ( clean it with RO water before plonking it in )

Today I have moved the two gobies and their tiger pistol shrimp into the new 200L tank. After an initial period when I was worried about their health (especially since one of the gobies ended up on the carpet during the move) they seem to have settled in to their new quarters and the shrimp is digging industriously.

Quite an acrobat, my female goby!
When they first went into the new tank the gobies immediately hid in the rockwork while the shrimp hunkered down on the rubble at the front. But within an hour it had started digging and by this morning there was a large burrow with 3 entrances and a goby face peering out of two of them.
My male goby isn’t as active as he used to be and may be showing signs of old age. I hope the new quarters are an improvement for them.
If you look very carefully in these pics you may see some signs of life...

What was a very white pile of rocks is now colouring up nicely, with some good coralline, some tolerable red grape algae and some less nice cyanobacteria. The latter is definitely reducing now though.
It looks a bit gloomy under the room lights. So to solve that problem I have supported my LFS at this difficult time and bought a new light, which has just been delivered:
I did well on this because I ordered a cheap end-of-line Hydra 26, but there weren’t any left so I got the new Hydra 32 model for the discounted old price :-)
The female goby and the shrimp are still doing well. The male goby that was looking old and sick has, I think, sadly passed on.
The snails are still doing well.
I expect that the algae will take off in an annoying way when I get the light installed!
