... so just found out about 4 seven year old goldfish needing a home ASAP!

I’ve volunteered the pond! Think they are in a small tank, so hopefully will enjoy having more space and cleaner water.

Spoke to the guy in my local pond shop and he is leaving me out a ‘pure bomb’. Just to be safe. The filter has only been on for about 4 days now, but the water has been in since the end of last Autumn I’d say.

So I need to work out a rough volume don’t I?
Dechlorinator and pure bomb in.
Acclimatise fish as I would in the tank.
Check ammonia levels as usual and be prepared for water changes?

Any words of wisdom?

1 gold fish in a pond = should be fine :P

De-chlorinate the water as you would normally do, stick in the 'pure bomb' hell, even squeeze some of your tank sponge into the pond if it needs a clean. You might get some die off with the bacteria as its going from tropical to cold, but what will survive should be boosted by the bomb.

Acclimate them nice and slow. It'll be a lot colder in the pond than in the tank, heated or not.

Pardon my ignorance: why would you need the de-chlorinator? If the water has been in since last autumn would not any chlorine have evaporated/degraded by now?

I used dechlorinator on my pond, when the fish went in originally and when ever I topped it up during hot summer months.

Promise!! It’s a bit of a logistical effort - lady is elderly and her son is gonna help. Then I’m not sure if you’ve heard - we’ve got a bit of social distancing going on 🤣. It may take a couple of days to sort out!
