She didn’t tell me, but when I asked what size their tank was she said that they were in a bigger one in England (she’s here about 5 years or so now). She said she didn’t have the space here and showed me with her hands the length of the tank - not 2 feet, but say at best it was 2 feet. Could we work it out? She said she only had room for a small tank so one of those wee basic glass tanks....Martinspuddle wrote: ↑Wed May 06, 2020 13:57 pm @Ruth do you know what sized aquarium they were housed in before, don't beleave you said.

Just googled there. They are about 25 ltr, so I’d say 25 - 30 ltr wouldn’t be a stones throw. As my dad used to say - if that didn’t knock it down it staggered it!

Ano and she’s a n lovely lady, but I think that’s pretty typical of people just not realising that it’s just not enough. Sure a few years ago now I took our nursery goldfish back to the shop, only because no one wanted to take them home ( thank goodness!) for the summer!! They were in a TINY tank. No filter - two comet goldfish. Bought by a well meaning teacher to teach children - ironically - how to care for a living thing!! I couldn’t wait to get them off her!! Wish I had had the pond then!!

Eh.... I went for pond fish food guv..... honest I did...
Continuing on with the biblical theme that the rescues arrived with meet Moses and Elijah, representing the Law and the Prophets!
I’ve now got the old and new testaments covered, with the gospels, law and prophecies. If I have room for any more I shall have David and Solomon to represent the poetry
Might be pushing it a bit tho with more fish. Need to do me sums for fish per litre!

...fish are friends, not food!
