The benefit of an upgraded pump is that the increase in water turnover via the filter will therefore allow you to stock more fish.
At the moment you are basically at maximum stocking level based on the filtration but only about 70-75% stocked based on the aquarium volume.
Improve the water turnover via the filter will allow for a higher stocking level (an extra 25%).

...and my guess is that it might not even be a tetra but a golden white cloud mountain minnow ::crazy::
I just get weary when people describe their fish in such vague terms. If someone doesn't know what they're keeping, how can they care for them properly? They can't.

I've used the basic Juwel filter (and media) for over 20 years with no problems.
I have uprated the pump to the 1000.
I don't even have the Cirax (ceramics), just sponges......no carbon or nitrax.

I will look into a bigger pump in the future if we decide to put more fish in, but i will see how this media goes over the next few weeks, dont want to make any big changes all at once.
