You say your powerhead is 500-4000 lph unit. I'd set for half power and see how the aquarium gets on. You will soon know when the algae start to diminish.Scorps1212 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 17:17 pmOK so I've got it on quite a low speed. The 53B only has a couple of big leaves moving. But moving very slowly. Should I up the speed so there's more movement on them?Martinspuddle wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 13:09 pmYes, so it causes a circular flow around the aquarium.Scorps1212 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 13:07 pmOK cool. So outlet lily pipe in front left corner, skimmer inlet right next to lily pipe, and powerhead in rear right facing across the tank to the leftMartinspuddle wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 10:30 am High tech planted needs to be at lease 10 x the volume.
Right rear, pointing back towards the filter inlet is where I'd put it.
Hook and Point (Time to shut down, I'll be back)

Thanks @Martinspuddle I've set it to just over half and angled so it hits the rear panel about half way across. All the stems across the back are now moving. I tried to attach a video but can't upload videos on here
I'd love to make something to raise my light up a little and was thinking of some 6 or 8mm threaded rod. Can I ask what you used as a tank mount/clip?Scorps1212 wrote: ↑Tue Feb 08, 2022 4:02 amThank you. Perks of working in an engineering place with a workshop. Lol.

I grabbed 4 right angled brackets from our workshop and drilled and tapped into them for the studs to thread into. Then put some heavy duty T Rex duck tape over them to act as a cushion so the glass doesn't get scratched when sliding the feet.Casp wrote: ↑Fri Feb 11, 2022 19:01 pmI'd love to make something to raise my light up a little and was thinking of some 6 or 8mm threaded rod. I been away from the scene quite a while, I was getting stressed and losing the love for it all due to algae. But I stuck at it and see it through and I'm glad I did as its not doing too bad. OK there is still algae in the tank but nothing I'm too concerned about and its not getting any worst
And you never really notice the progress until you put the start and present pics together. Lol
