How to deal with a Heron

My dad's pond, which is as approx 25000litres and semi circle shape has a problem heron.

He has ladders and poles across but it seems to be able to wade into small gaps to get at the fish.

Last time it knocked the fountain over which put the filter in the mud at the bottom and caused the water to go a bit green.

Water is better now but it's an eye sore having ladders and all sorts over it, I've seen these floating hexagon shaped repellent but still spoils the view of the koi and doesn't look good.

Anyone have another way? We've tried fake heron statutes etc to no avail

Because my wife wants a pond in the garden (reinforced by the Chelsea flower show this year and she wants an obelisk as well now) I've been looking at what designs stop herons, short of covering it with the right net there isn't much of an answer. They are very patient creatures that will wait for a fish to come to them so depth and hiding places don't help much.
I think I decided on making a frame for a net that is easy to remove when we want to see it but I'm interested in any more unusual ideas.

Haha my dad has my .22 Webley air rifle, but the pond is out of range from the house and the heron is not silly and bails if he hears the door go

build a large greenhouse over the garden a bit like a mini Eden Project dome

The only answer is netting over the pond, unsightly I know but does work.
