They have been doing it for at least 30 years, when the needle swung from women being blocked it went way past the balance point.
Many government jobs were like that, suddenly the sexes needed to be seen as equal and reality didn't matter. A bloke in a woman dominated field could do very well out of it, there was some equality in how unequal the sexes were.

I've heard plenty of women say the positive discrimination they benefitted from was wrong, they wanted a level playing field.

Does annoy me, why is the discrimination word even been used, thought it was outlawed.

If a person regardless of sex, colour or creed meets the criteria for the job, it shouldn't make any damn difference!
