I bought some java moss for my betta tank a few months ago, already attached to lava rock. It grows fast and I've been cutting it and throwing it out. I'd quite like to try and attach the cutting to another rock in another tank. Is this fairly straightforward? Any tips on best way to do it? Glue or string or any other method and how short or long should the cuttings be?

Thanks for any info.

When it’s in contact with a hard surface it sticks to it. Just put some on a rock and put a stone on it to keep it there, something like that. It’ll stick in a few days.
I don't keep fish, I keep water. Water keeps fish.

either glue, string or netting works. Longer the better to tie it down :)

Cheers guys. It's really long, probably a few inches. How long would you have to leave a rock leaning against it? Are their glues that you can and can't use or any superglue?

Cyanoacrylate glue is a yes, anything else is a no. Superglue gel works best :)

I use super glue and gorilla glue, but only use a little to avoid big white marks for future scapes. I don't like the string method, I had a pleco manage to get itself tangled a few years ago.

Been doing a bit more research and thinking of using a nylon hair net. Do you reckon that'd be safe?
