Hi all,

So as the title says, managed to get ahold of an old rio 125 aquarium. Been many years since I kept anything, quite excited. I was planning on a bunch of dwarf puffers but given they can be a bit difficult I've switched to trying a low tech planted aquarium community now. I need to buy a decent substrate and get to cycling.

Fish wise I've got my eyes on giant bettas, cories (maybe), halfbeaks, peacock gudgeons (not all at once, just some that I've noticed that stand out to me).

Anyway just here for the usual advice and to spy on other people's tanks and nab ideas. Also will probably be sniffing about for some plants if people are selling and/or have some to give away ofc :)

Welcome to the forum. :D
The tank may be a bit small for giant bettas and halfbeaks, although these aren't usually as grumpy as splendens you wouldn't get away with much else in there as both should reach around 4". ;)
If at first you don't succeed....
...get someone else to do it! :D

Enjoy your fish, shrimps and snails!
