I'm new to the forum and new to acquaria.
It would be good to have moderated responses to newbies as we usually have questions and low quality advice is unwelcome and discouraging. This is prob why people search out the forum - looking for good quality guidance and encouragement.
There could be a step by step beginner quick start guide, especially for it you're not buying all new equipment.
Could there please be a "what is this?" thread for identification?
When you start a thread or post in the newbie channel could the poster please be auto subscribed to updates?

There is also an identification section
The “getting started” guide has a little bit about equipment and then you have to hard/soft water guide by Stephen on here which goes a bit into the types of fish for your water type.
If you have any doubts about advice given, then you can be sure black ghost and a few others will pipe up and correct it

I can’t let bad advice go without correcting it (if I know it’s bad, obviously)… as Matt is about to find out.
I don't keep fish, I keep water. Water keeps fish.

Haha! You wouldn’t want one of those on here!!
I made a couple different ones but like the blue/yellow one the best. I did a couple different ones, betta, neon, discus and the one in use at the moment.
I need to do a few more tweaks to make it behave a bit better on smaller mobiles, but as a whole it’s working well.

One guide that might be useful for some members, would be how to culture your own live micro foods for fry.
Have feeling that @Vale! could be this best member to ask, if he has the time for such a guide.
