Got my first sleeve of frozen food today (daphnia) , what is the best way to use these, just drop them in or thaw out first in tank water then put in?? How often do i use them?
Thanks

Defrost it first in a little water or on a saucer, whatever. You can feed it daily.
I don't keep fish, I keep water. Water keeps fish.

Take how much you give your fish per week ...Daphnia can work like a laxative if given too often.
WARNING - DO NOT BREED, FEED OR PET THE PUDDLE!

I didn't know this. Suggest keeping in fridge between feeds? I've been putting a whole cube in every few days, massively over feeding for my stock. I assumed once it was defrosted it had to be used straight away. I have a small fridge in the garage where the tanks are kept.black ghost wrote: ↑Fri Dec 29, 2023 17:00 pm Defrost it first in a little water or on a saucer, whatever. You can feed it daily.

Use a sharp knife (I have a sharp penknife) and cut what you need, pop in a small shot glass/eggcup with some tank water to defrost and then feed. If the container is on the tank I find it haws enough by the time I've fed the dry food, but I do have 4 tanks....the remainder can be put back in either the freezer, or the fridge (as it will be more defrosted for the next day).
If at first you don't succeed....

Cut a frozen cube in half, as plankton says. But I wouldn’t keep it for long once it’s thawed…. although Ian does and has no trouble with it…Bluetaurus wrote: ↑Sat Dec 30, 2023 5:35 amI didn't know this. Suggest keeping in fridge between feeds?
