It’s thawing from the other day so you can see the outline a little more than Wednesday. It’s meant to get blowy today so might clear it away in time for more rain over the weekend

Recently it has been briefly mild enough to have a look at the pond, not dry enough to do any work yet I would like to do some planting or at least mow the grass soon it's very long,
The other day the newts were very active and distracted enough they did not mind me watching, there was at least 8 of them in there which I thought was a lot for a very small pond, then today I was happy to see the frog had re appeared and planted some eggs in one of the baskets

@Sarah Any chance of a pond pic?? I am embarrassed to show mine it looks even more messy than normal, I thought the frogs had maybe been predated saw a couple of tiny ones in the summer but nothing else for months and months so it's surprising what is around, same with the newts they must have been in the garden already as they were in the pond just about as soon as it was finished!
@fr499y be careful what you wish for, I only really see mine now and again once things start growing as they stay under the leaves or pots, but when I need to clear the algae I have to spend ages throwing tiny baby ones back in, they are pretty cute just like mini versions of the adults but not easy to spot, so it turns algae removal into a very long job!

Find some Frogs spawn locally and add to your pond.
Next year you'll have the joy's of been kept awake by the sound of amorous Frogs when they return to breed.
WARNING - DO NOT BREED, FEED OR PET THE PUDDLE!

This afternoon was nice enough to catch up in the garden despite the wind, at least it had stopped raining,
Made a start on the pond, removed some debris from the water and dead sticks from the plants,
Went through all the pots, any showing life signs were put back in, some needed re potting or more stones but most were ok, it's still very cold at night so I won't discard the other pots just yet
Also set the pond-in-a-pot up again, the nice looking plant in the foreground with impressive green leaves is brand new that's why it looks so good

I can’t remember which plants were from you, but this is how mine is looking as of a couple of days ago; much better than with all the snow!
