Been a while, this looks like an untreatable tumour but just checking if anyone knows if it could be something different and treatable

it does look like one. How long has it been there? what are the water parims like? how is he behaving?

Its a customers tank so dont have parameters, they do regular water changes they tell me and i maintain their tank once a month, he seem happy enough but not quite as active, i think they said a couple of weeks now

As above, how old is he, how hard/soft is the water, what's the diet?

Yeah i know i didnt take readings only a rough guide is that its hard water, flake food only and they haveq had him for about 9months and he was not that small when they got him so could be appx 1.5 yrsin total

Could be a combination of age and hardwater. They are sold when fully mature because of the finage, you never know if you're buying a 12 month or 3 year old fish.
