I might as well start a log for my current tank straight away.

Only had it since June 2019, found it cheaply on Gumtree. My previous tank was a Juwel Lido 120 and I was toying with the idea of having a rectangular tank again. When I found this tank it was advertised as 180ltr, which was a bit larger than what I wanted but after I got it home and re-measured it, it turns out it is closer to 200ltr. The previous owner had kept African cichlids so lots of limescale had to be scraped off, some algae and then it was ready to set up.

The substrate is a mix of fine smooth gravel and sand. Décor is some bogwood with moss and also the obligatory coconut shell with moss. Lots of crypts, some ferns, hygrophila rosanervig, water wisteria and some others I've forgotten the names of.
- Did I mention I like the jungle look? So far, this tank is quite restraint in terms of planting...  :D -

Livestock is kept simple: motley collection of endlers, three black mollies, lots of cherry shrimps, some amano shrimps, assassin snails and one bristlenose pleco.

Hope you enjoy the pics and, once I know how, the little videos - just don't expect any expert photography or cinematography (I'm no grommit/Bri).

Looks lovely :)

I’m trying to go for the jungle style in my goldie tank but it’s tricky finding plants they won’t eat ROFL I’m getting there!

For videos you put it on YouTube. Then get the link. In ‘new reply’ click on the little film icon, choose YouTube from the drop down box then paste the link. Et voila :)

Thank you - I had a look at your tank/swimming pool log last night, it looks great. You do seem to be able to keep more plants than most with goldies already, it looks so noce.
Have you tried the old favourites: anubias and ferns? They're meant to be ok because the leaves are too hard to be chewed up (so I've read).

And thank you (again) for the technology tip. For some reason I don't 'register' drop down buttons (that is a general thing with me, not just here  ), that they give you choices. I had played around with that earlier but failed to notice that I need to change the option to YouTube. Well, here is a gratuitous feeding video from some years ago - purely for training purposes  :D

Haha! Thankyou! It is a bit of a swimming pool. My stepmum is only about 4’10” tall so as it’s 5’ I wanted her to lie down in it (before we filled it of course!) for a picture but she didn’t seem too keen. Dunno why?? ROFL

I’ve found the trick with goldies or any larger fish I suppose is for the leaves to be bigger than their mouths and have good roots. Anubias is very good. There’s a bit in there. Amazon swords too. One day I’ll have it jungly like the tropical tanks here :)

Very nice Ric :)
You do have some mix in colours on the endlers, very random :D
And the tank looks very nice and they all seem very happy :)

Thanks - I just got some endlers which were advertised locally on pre-loved and also added a few from a local fish store which has a small but healthy selection of tropicals. So I won't know how the next generation will turn out and that is part of the fun. As the fry grow up I've noticed some with amazing iridescent colours, then some which clearly have some guppy in their pedigree. As long as they're healthy and happy, thats all that matters to me.

Love watching at feeding time, especially when the shrimps come rushing out of nowhere and nick something and rush off with it, so funny !

And some pics to match:

Two different light tubes: 1x daylight, 1x daylight soft glow. So neither pic looks what it looks like when seen through human eyes.
