Indeed, I'm exited to get minnows moved over, the repair will have to wait till the weekend, then I'm off to work away for a week in Scotland, first time I've been away since setting up the tank so feeding and ferts will have to be done by my partner eek, she's never had fish before, mild panic about over feeding.

Set out certain amounts of food for each day/every other day, or dont feed them for the week, they will be fine :)
Just make it absolutely clear no matter how much the fish come up for food dont feed anymore than you’ve set out.

Well emma has done a fair bit more gardening before leaving, she’s revealed some of the super glue by ripping some of the moss off, but here it is, needs a lot doing to it but it’s a start.

Well bit of a disaster this morning in the tank at 6:30 when I came down, either the cats had been meddling or I'd just let the level drop too low, the juwel compact filter box had risen to the surface with the heater in it, the heater died and the filter stopped. I had a spare heater and managed to drag the pump back to life, the temps had dropped but nothing seemed harmed as they are all temperates. lesson learned I guess.

I find most flora and fauna will bounce back if the temperature drops slowly.
That's the JUWEL filter with the suckers isn't it? Have they gone hard the suckers that might be why it's come off.

The juwel bio filters are siliconed in. never known them to be suctioned, unless they have made changes in the last few years?
