Yesterday some major changes were made to the 350 tank, knowing that kind of disturbance can stress the fish and possibly contaminate the water I did a 50% water change, this morning one of my corys has died
My question is with Prime I have never used it before previously have treated 10l buckets with Fluval aqua plus 1 at a time before adding them in, but this time I dosed for the whole tank volume after the water had been added with Prime, was that wrong should I have dosed the tank before adding the water?
The other fish seem ok although I am unable to head count the corys they can hide so well...

Given its safe (according to the label ) to use up to a 5x Dose to help combat Nitrogen spikes which I have done and my Panda Corys suffered no ill effects then I doubt it's related.

But that's just my limited experience.

I'd treat the water before adding if i was going to top straight up. I tend to use safe ( the powdered form, without stabilizers and stuff added ) and dose the water change container and stick an extra scoop in the tank. Never lost a fish this way. I'm not a fan of adding untreated water to the tank THEN treating.

Also never had an issue using Prime with cory's.

Problem is I do not have a container large enough for such a large change, idea was to fill tank using hose straight from tap but I could certainly dose the tank before new water goes in?

As I use a python with Sunnyside I add the Prime to the tank immediately I start adding water (unless I forget like I did the other day)

Fireside and Castle are filled form buckets/jugs so add to those befiy adding to tank.

@mikeyw64 Thanks sounds like I did it the wrong way round as I added the new water then switched filter on then added dose in filter outlet, from now on I will add to the tank just before filling with new water hopefully that will work better.

Sorry for your loss.
If I were doing a large change, I would add the conditioner to the tank before adding fresh water as well.
Did you test the water after the death?
Have you done another small water change since the death? (I do that as well ;) )

As I said I did forget to add Prime the other day on a 50% water change (I blame blowing the heater up as distracting me but that's a different story) and it was 2 days before I realised, fortunately no harm done.
