Hi, I recently lost a lot of fish in my tank ( had a family crisis and neglected it. Needless to say my fish all got sick). I haven't lost any for a few weeks and would like to get some more as the tank seems quite empty. I am looking to buy some after christmas as hopefully I will know if my fish are healthy again by then.
Sorry for the long post.
87 litre tank with small black gravel substrate (currently being planted with vallis)
I currently have:
7 harlequins,
5 rummy nose tetra,
1 pencil fish
7 amano shrimp
What would you recommend I add? I would like a little more colour but something easy to care for as we have another baby coming in November.
TIA
Rachel xx
Which fish to buy.

What's the water hardness?
That will help with suggestions.
Is this a 2.5' tank or a 2' tank in length?

The 7.2ph isn't the hardness.
You can find the hardness on the supplier's website - it'll be either mg/l, ppm, GH or something like that.

If unsure on your actual water hardness then which part of Warwickshire do you live, the hardness can be looked up.

Your water is only moderately hard at 8.39dGH (German).
You also need to make sure that the fish are tank water temperature compatible.

The pencils are a bit more fussy and need softer water, the others should be ok(ish).
What sort of thing were you looking at...colours, size, amount?

Cardinals go nicely with harlequin Rasbora and rummynose tetra (from experience, although i’m used to gH of 2!) and would be a nice splash of colour

Hi, I was looking to add some bottom dwellers and a pair of something like dwarf gouramis
Or 6 schooling fish and some colourful shrimp.
But I am open to suggestions. I want some more colour and more activity at the bottom of the tank.
I am mindful that I don't want to be over stocked. So not sure how many more fish I can fit. Probably another 8 at most dependant on size.
