Does anyone who knows this aquarium know why they say that it needs to be installed vertically. As I can only fit it at a slight angle. Is it some sort of safely issue or does it just function better vertically? I have attached an image so you can see what I am talking about.

I think its due to how the water flows through it.

I also think it has a safety cut off so it switches off if it is at an angle?

Also just read this on a review:

Like I mentioned, it’s crucial to install these heaters vertically. Keeping them on their side or installing them upside down will cause air bubbles to accumulate in the temperature control, which can interfere with the heater’s ability to shut off when the preset temperature is reached.

Thanks for the reply it seems to be keeping the water at the desired temperature quite accurately actually. So at the minute it seems to be working correctly and shutting off when it needs to. I will keep an eye on it and move it if necessary I suppose.

Can't tell what the cabinet is made of but assume wood.

Could you get some adhesive magnetic or velcro strip or even cable ties and attach it to that central pillar?

If it helps (or even if it doesn't!) : I used terry-clips for mine.

No just wonky the eyelet on the top of the heater needs to be up to hang it and theres an arrow with water flow direction. I have positioned it better now by using zip ties. Thanks for that recommendation. I was worried it might kink the hose but it's not to bad
