Have you never had a betta jump M?
I don't think I could ever have an open top because of that......

Plec has been in for 12 hours now and so far so good. Only the large anubias on the right has come out ( not glued in yet ) and one crypt at the front starting to uproot but its expected! Shes happy chilling under one of the sword leaves this morning so thats good. Water has a slight cloudy hint but kind of expected ( used gravel so not had time to fully clear )
All 11 swordtails have been rehomed and one of the SAE, second one jumped out over night ( how do they manage to jump 8" out of water to escape over the lip of a bucket!!! ) and was about 4 foot from its temp home, the other jumped this morning but is back in the bucket with a oversized lid on it! Just need to rehome the last SAE and the 4 barbs. Anyone want anything equipment from the 4 foot? 300w Eheim Jager also up for grabs!

Back in the day I had one that didn't want to be in the tank for more than an hour I don't think.
I had to put a couple of exercise books over the top in the end until I got some glass cut.
Handing in homework was interesting......

Fitted the eheim compactOn 600 pump, running it at its lowest setting for the betta, which is about 250lph. Nothing appears to be moving in the flow apart from the surface and the odd flicker of leaves so flow seems to be low but perfect for the betta.
Oh yeah, picked one up last night! Silvery blue with deep red fins. Breaks up the greens and browns of the tank quite nicely!
