How do you clean your plants effectively - before putting them in the tank - to try and avoid any nasties from entering?
What methods do members use?

Hydrogen peroxide, potassium permanganate or even low percentage bleach.
They won't usually get rid of snails' eggs though. But then I don't worry about snails.
There are snail killer concoctions available, but you need to quarantine the plants for a minimum of 6 weeks afterwards, running in a tank with a filter full of carbon, or you can kill shimp (or wanted snails) and sometimes even fragile fish. ;)

Any particular bleach? How much would you use? And how long to bleach the plants?
Do you was wash the plants after bleaching in dechlorinated water and how long long before you can plant them into the tank? 😀

The thin bleach with no perfume and stuff, the baby bleaches (like Milton) are probably the best as they are pure. You don't need very long, 5 mins or so.
Yes, rinse in dechlorinated water before they go in the tank. You can plant them straight away after that.
One thing I will advise is that many suppliers now treat for snails, so it's best to quarantine for at least 6 weeks anyway to get rid of that treatment.
Aquarium Gardens don't, I'm not sure about Tropica.

Thanks @plankton - I’ll give the plants a rinse with the Milton bleach 😃

You can see snail eggs when they have grown a bit, like a small lump of clear jelly with small dots inside, just rub them off the plant. :)
