I've left the algae on the back as I think it benefits the tank but I'm not sure whether I like the look really, but can I be bothered to scrape it all off...? You can see our little fry Deggs and how it's grown. There's also a lot of bubbles from the out of the filter. In a few weeks if the two ECDs are still healthy I'm thinking about adding to this tank again...
- more cory?
- would a BN be a bad idea?
- a new fish specific like the other little fish that have been suggested previously?
- shrimp? amanos?
- nerites?
- ooooor buy some young rainbows from tropco (I think they do some ~4cm) to keep Deggs company as he grows up?
What do you think?

If you can get a small BN (that only gets to 3"-4") it shouldn't overpower the tank (don't get a bigger one like my "Grumpy Graws" he's a bit of a moron).
I have some in the other tanks and they do a fair job with the algae.

Ropefish were my intention when I bought my first Roma 125 about 10 years ago, but realised it wasn't big enough. My parents had one when I was a teenager. Amazing fish.F3l1ss wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 10:19 am Thanks @Staffylover and @plankton , I'll give her a bit more time and we'll see how she goes.
I considered rope fish once, I really like you can have multiple of them and their little nose tubes are so so cute! What's you thoughts about them @Staffylover, why you resisting?
Young BNs are incredible at algae munching when they're young but they do stop when they're a bit bigger. I love them.

I really love them, but all of my fish are together in one tank ATM, I should be getting a second tank again in the next month or so then I can move some out which should give me enough space for them, at the moment I would worry for my cory and small loaches, my other worry is making sure they get enough to eat with existing established fish in the tank, do you think I should take all of my existing fish out for a week or might they be ok with a dozen or so other fish already in? I don't have a suitable QT for them and will have to rely on the shop for that. Thanks Feliss!

Just seen your next post, more cory never a bad idea! I like BN but don't get a pair like I did then you get over run with BN babies you can't catch there are different colour options now red ones, yellow ones, one called starlight that has lots of little spots, I don't see mine every day but I do see them sometimes, they help a little with the algae more on stones and plants than the glass, perhaps they think the glass is my job.

I've always found youngsters do the glass as much as anywhere else but as they get older he reside in caves. I'd like a group of either L181, 182 or 183 which are the Starlights. If you keep an eye on pets at home (I go in there for the dog and always look and generally get annoyed) they quite often have Bristlenoses from the Rio Ucayali amongst their "common" Bristlenoses. I had a couple a few years ago but I struggled to turn them around from the condition I got them in.Staffylover wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 13:45 pm Just seen your next post, more cory never a bad idea! Just been having a catch up on everyone's logs. Tank looks wicked! If I was going to vote, I'd go rainbows!F3l1ss wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 10:28 am Photo of the little tank not long after my pruning work: https://photos.app.goo.gl/Q1wocnK5C17ai9uC7

My cat nearly died of IMHA this month - an autoimmune disorder where he was killing his blood cells - kind of sucked up any money for this month so I'm unable to do much with my tanks still the cat lives and that is definitely worth it
