I've just been haveing a re-read of this post as I have lemons and emperor's same as you, both of my sets of tetra spawn all the time..nearly daily but they just gobble the eggs before they land anywhere! 
Sorry if I've missed it but what size tank are yours in, I think yours is more heavily planted than mine which probably makes a difference.

The lemons are in the Trigon (190l), the emperors will have to go in with them at some stage as i only put them in the 68l, not expecting them to breed.....

I always seem to get pics just after the flames have eaten, the golds don't look half as misshapen and it was the same time......

Lost the silly female lemon who wouldn't drop her eggs yesterday. The rest decided to go on a spawning spree afterwards...... :rolleyes:

Sorry you lost her :( she has been egg bound for ages! (I’m sure more or less as long as you’ve had them!).
