It's time I started a tank log about our big tank.

A 2nd hand sea shell 60x24x18 inch tank stand and hood , fluval fx6 and a fluval led light. Every thing needed cleaning so we started with the tank.

The plan is to have angel fish and a few as yet undecided other species in here, lots of plants, co2.

Day 1. 15/3/20

A week or 2 later we bought 3 pieces of wood from a LFS. the one on the left has a nice cave in it .

Last weekend I cleaned out the fx6. I had to use an old kids tooth brush on the cartridges. It took ages, then I found the remains of a small plec at the bottom of the canister. Poor bugger.

I still need the round sponges for the filter but at least its clean now.

Me and zarra have been busy today. We had our back ground paint delivered so we have managed to get a bit done.

Our peelable background paint.

Back ground done and some black limpopo sand added tonight.

I've also fitted a supafish timer that doesn't fit my supafish tank but does fit my fluval light.

Heres how it stands now. No I'm not keeping the gap in the substrate @Martinspuddle

The plec was about 1.5 2 inches long. And there was a strainer on the intake when I viewed the tank, and no mature pleco in there.

Exciting to see the progress. Is this the final position of the tank, also with the plant to the left of it? If so, I'd almost be tempted to also paint the glass on the right hand side, like a 'safe corner' for the fish.

PS: you always try it out by sticking up a black bag first, to give you an idea how it might look.
