Thanks. I wouldn’t want any more white on them, I don’t think they are as pretty with too little red.
Wish I could get a picture of the 2 non CRS as I can’t figure out what they are.

Finally managed to get a photo of the imposters in my shrimp tank. Any idea what they are please? Possibly Ghost shrimp?

I can't see pincers on the front "legs", so they won't be ghost shrimp, more likely naturally coloured neocaradina (like red cherries) which won't like the softness too well, but with the extra calcium they may be ok.

To me the second image, what looks like a wildtype Tiger Shrimp (Caridina mariae)

Where did you get them from, their suppliers might be able to give you a more definitive answer.

Thanks. I’ll have a look and see if I can see any pincers.
They snuck into the bag at my LFS, I assume they got them from the same customer/breeder that supplied the CRS to them. Next time I’m in there I’ll see if they have any idea what they are.

I’ve noticed that if I turn the filter off, that within a minute all the shrimp appear from where ever and become far more active, swimming all over the place. Could the filter be too powerful for them? It’s only a tiny 200 lph one with a spray bar, I’ll put a link below. It gives good movement on the surface and there are air bubbles floating around the whole tank, there’s very slight movement of plants.

I’ve replaced the carbon that was in it with Matrix and also added a piece of floss between that and the foam. I could add a bit more floss I suppose to try and slow it down, if flow is the reason.

Shrimp swimming around and not foraging is normally a sign their hungry, have you ever switched the filter off to feed them?
