it's only 9 weeks old give it time
I've been doing a 50% water change every 5 days and gravel vac every 3, its a lot easier with
the artificial plants as you can move them for cleaning

Keep your eye on the cory barbels, mine always seem to be attracted to sharp bits on artificial plants so they all went in the bin, even in the q-tank (the plastic, not the corys).

Thank you for that information.
So far they seem to mostly ignore the plants, they are too much in love with the black sand substrate at the moment, it is quite smooth. I will keep an eye open for it though, and thanks again for the tip.

I found 2 things with aquarium plants:
1. Growing real plants is less effort than keeping artificial ones looking good.
2. If you put some different types of stem plants in at least one of them is likely to grow well with little effort from you
