It is a concern and worry to me as I brought those female guppies specifically so they could birth more fry. I really would like to understand why the male guppy has Zero interest in the female guppies._My understanding was that male guppys are not choosy on who they mate with, but could this be wrong. Could they be like humans and each have a specific preference ?

Suggest you go to Google Scholar. Use the search string : "poecilia reticulata mating preferences".

I haven't investigated any of the results (I've little interest!) but it looks like you might find some useful info.
