Astronotus mikoljii, a new Oscar described this year, found throughout the lower Orinoco basin, in Venezuela and Colombia.

It has a longer head, pointier mouth and larger eyes than A. ocellatus and A. crassipinnis, also a reticulated pattern to the scales.
