I can’t remember. Maybe. I’ll persevere for now cos it’s easier than creating new passwords for everywhere I go.

I had a similar problem where it didn't recognize my PW today and I had to reset it, which is unusual as I haven't had to input my PW for years....??

Strange! I suppose cache only keeps for so long, I’ll take a look at the admin panel and see if there’s anything to clear

I don’t understand caches and cookies, but why does this site do that when no others do? Does it have a smaller cache? Does it mean I use this forum more than others? Sorry if I’m being stupid.

Actually, I did have to update the 'remember me' plugin so that could of done it! The session time out is set to 30 hours, so if you returned to the forum in that time it would keep you logged in. The plugin overides this and keeps the session alive. I'm guessing when I updated the plugin ( you have to disable them before hand ) the session timed out which has caused a few people to be logged out. Hopefully now its enabled again, the issue should disappear ( if its working as it should! )
