Hey all.
As the title, any recommendations for low tech plants that preferably will out compete algae, and appreciate hard water?
All my plants have melted, algae is doing well though so guessing there is enough nutrients in the water column.
I have the lights on for 6 hours currently as the algae was taking over.

Many thanks for any replies.

Any stem plant will do the trick, stick to green ones and you’re well away. Vallis, hygrophila Polysperma etc.

Try going with some Limnophila sessiliflora, hygrophila Polysperma, even some Egeria densa works well to absorb any excess nutrients.

Eleocharis montevidensis Can work well in a low tech setup as well.

Are these new plants? Sometimes melting, can be mistaken for plants that were grown immersed, which are now transitioning to submerged.

Hi Lo1
My amazon swords have been in maybe 6 months.
The red dwarf lotus around 7 months. The ferns stuck to the rock around 8 months.
The tall grass plants are the latest additions, around 2 months.
I use flourish root tabs.

I know this is the Superfish Home 60, but this series of three George farmer videos may have some ideas and tips for this type of aquarium.
