Pale area on Neon Tetra

This is a neon tetra from my friends fish tank. Does anyone have any ideas what could be causing the loss of colour in this area please?

Looks like Columnaris, a bacterial disease (although there’s a lot of bacteria that cause similar symptoms). I’d treat with a bactericide, such as Myxazin. Keep on top of the water quality, and keep nitrates low.

It’s a rapid disease so they might not save it, but it should prevent its spread to others.
