Hi, after adding some fish from a new LFS to my Malawi tank, I saw many fish flashing and scratching on rocks. There is nothing external to see at all. I treated the whole tank with api melafix for 7 days then did some water changes. The flashing continued, so after a couple of weeks I tried this again. They are still flashing.
There aren’t any other symptoms. What do you think? Leave them alone or treat with something else?
TIA.
Flashing - infection? parasite?

Probably flukes, especially if it transferred very quickly. Worms would take longer. I’d treat (both) with Sterazin.
I don't keep fish, I keep water. Water keeps fish.

dont clean the filters, treatment can kill some bacteria so best to leave it as it is until after the 10 days Water change is a good idea though.

You can do a water change on any day that you’re not dosing. Sterazin won’t affect filter bacteria.

Ack! I have finished the treatment and while doing a water change and I can see parasites on the glass where the water has dropped! I have good short sight vision. They are small and orange ish. I have tried a photo but the camera can’t focus on them.
Help! Does this mean it’s something else not killed by the sterazin, or should I carry on dosing?
