I have Asian Rummynose they are great fish male blue with red points female subtle but still pretty gold, they are not active so a good choice for small tanks, and the males are not too shy so I get to see them every day, it is hard to source good ones,
Celestial pearl and Glowlight Danio would be good choices so would Endlers and Limia, Goodieds tend to get a bit bigger and can be nippy, Scarlet Badis would be ok but they are tiny and shy,
Xray tetra are nice fish I also like Glowlight tetra, Honey Gourami the natural colour type should work the males are quite striking - 1 only to a tank, Paradise fish get a little bigger but a pair might be ok they do need cooler temps,
Also take a look at bumblebee Goby they are not an everyday fish but worth considering
Here is a pic of my rummynose male :)

Don't get Paradise fish with anything else in the tank, they are piscivores. ;)

So are all raspboras a no?

My adult Molly is about 4" long and hasn't grown since I got her.

Will see how large her babies turn out. The oldest fry I have is about 6 months and is about 1.5".

Florida flag fish look beautiful but I love my plants.

Celestial pearl danio are lovely!

I don't mind livebearers, I just struggle with them breeding prolifically as I am not comfortable culling the fry!
Couldn't you just get male live bearers? I don't want fry so just have male endlers and guppy.
Our water is extremely hard so other types of fish may struggle to flourish.

Love the look of the bumblebee gobi but it seems they are hard to find and some require a small about of salt in the water.

I am going to an aquatic shop tomorrow so may see if they have some of rummynose rasbora x

In the end I went with 7 male guppies, they are lovely and seem quite docile.

Suddenly occurred to me though, I hope they don’t try and mate with my female molly and her female fry all
