What test kit did you use for the GH? It will be ppm, and if it’s accurate it’s 14 which is fine. Test strips are not always accurate...
Do you know what the pH was at your previous address? The cloudy eye could be down to the pH drop.

I’ll order a better test kit. I’m looking at the API master test kit, but that doesn’t do GH by the description. Any suggestions?

API do gh and kh tests too which are cheap enough

Your guess is as good as ours. You could try a bactericide, or salt. It has lopsided mouth so it might have been prone to diseases and problems anyway.
