Anyone had experience of end of cylinder co2 dump?? using the single stage regulator. Seems to be an issue with this type or is it more scare mongering and a way of making a little bit more cash for the suppliers

I went for the dual stage regulator for that reason. Well that and theres almost 1000psi in a 3kg cylinder so I bought the best I could.

I'd echo what's above. Don't go DIY, that was how I managed to grow BBA.

Inline reactor was what I had and I didn't notice bubbles around the tank. My main problem was that it reduced the flow of the filter quite a bit and didn't seal well so I had to silicone the pipes to it.

I didn't experience a CO2 dump. A pH controller would be able to stop that happening, although they're not cheap.

Never had that problem before with a single or dual stage regulator. I'd normally advise against anything TMC, but there regulators are one of the best I've used ( but not cheap )
For your tank, get a proper DIN477 regulator and use co2 fire extinguishers or pub bottles :)

TMC - company name
DIN447 is an engineering standard that means anything made to the DIN447 is the same size and spec :)

aka Fire Extinguishers, Pub Co2 bottles, UK Standard fitment. The other one is the euro? ( or MURICAAAAAA!!! ) which is CGA320 and is a nightmare to get bottles refilled.

If you don't want bubbles in the tank have a look at reactors. I have a high bubble rate from the gauge but don't get any visible bubbles coming into the tank from it, all been dissolved by reactor before being returned via external filter.
